The north side of AFSCME Council 62's offices once contained a mural honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. and his support for organized labor. The mural depicts the civil rights leader conferring with AFSCME international president Jerry Wurf about the 1968 sanitation workers strike in Memphis. It was on this trip to Memphis that Dr. King was assassinated. | |||
