Description |

| When the AFL chartered the United Automobile Workers as an international union in 1935, they created regional offices for the newly sanctioned union. The UAW soon left the AFL to help found the Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO). In 1949, the Region's territory was redrawn to its present boundaries of Indiana and Kentucky. During the 1950s and early 1960s, Region 3 led the UAW's successful fight against the "open shop." Region 3 moved to its present location at 5850 Fortune Circle West in 1985. | ||||
