Description |

| Parry was active in the Indianapolis anti-union efforts at the turn of the century and later became president of the National Association of Manufacturers. In 1907 he was called before a Congressional investigation to answer charges that he and others attempted to bribe Samuel Gompers. It was reported that Parry lived in deep fear of retaliation by the labor community. In addition to carrying pistols and maintaining an armed guard at his factory and at his Golden Hill mansion, at one point he sent his family to live in Germany for fear that they would be kidnapped. | ||||
