Description

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters established its headquarters in Indianapolis in 1903, with Cornelius Stein as its president. Daniel J. Tobin, the union’s second president (1907-1952), maintained the union’s national headquarters in Indianapolis during his 45-year tenure as international president. The year after Tobin’s retirement, the union relocated its main offices to Washington, D.C.
