Former headquarters of several national and international unions once based in Indianapolis, including the Carpenters and Joiners, Teamsters, and Typographers. The Carpenter’s Union founding convention in Chicago included 36 delegates from unions in eleven cities, including Indianapolis. In 1903, the United Brotherhood of Carpenters moved their then international headquarters to Indianapolis. The Carpenter’s also held their several national conventions in Indianapolis - in 1894, 1914, 1920, and 1924. | |||
