Description

Construction of a three story mill was completed in 1831, with saw and flour milling taking place soon after. The facility produced more than three times the local demand for flour and inadequate transportation facilities prevented shipping the product elsewhere. Too large for the Indianapolis of the time, the mill proved to be one of the biggest business failures in the city’s history.
